Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

We offered to pay for an airline ticket for one of my daughters friends. Ticket was purchased about 2 months ago. About a week before departure the friend has decided that she does not want to go. It is her personal choice to not go, she is not being forced to not go, just a personal choice. Is the friend liable at all in this case?

If it was a gift to her and she had no responsibility to pay for it, no liability.
