Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Overseas program a scam?

In my third year of college, I signed onto an independent overseas program for study abroad. They took $5,000.00 in fees. I had to pay for everything, including housing, school expenses, travel arrangements and expenses, etc. When I asked them for an itemized list of how my money was allocated; they would not provide me with one and outright refused.

Because of the expenses incurred, my loan went into default as I was unable to pay for a flight home, and havent been able to complete my education, and the company still has my money. Do I have a case?

Re: Overseas program a scam?

It depends on what your contract provides or if

there was any fraud. An attorney would need

to review all your documentation and ask you lots

of questions. Assuming you have a case, you

still have issues such as what are your remedies,

where are they to be pursued, what are the costs

and amount of attorney's fees that might be involved,

and if successful, the chances of collecting. I suggest

you make an appointment with an attorney so you

can have a complete understanding of everything

involved.
