Paid a pool care guy $2200.00 by check in Charlotte County for purchase of Heat pump system on October 6th, 2014. Did not receive the pump or refund. He lives in adjacent county of Sarasota. What is the proper venue to file a small claims suit, Charlotte or Sarasota county?

Florida Statute : 47.011 Where actions may be begun.�Actions shall be brought only in the county where the defendant resides, where the cause of action accrued, or where the property in litigation is located. This section shall not apply to actions against nonresidents.

Without more information it sounds like the cause of action arose in Charlotte County. I agree with Mr. Stein, pick the easiest for you
