Pain & Suffering Lawsuit(Defendants response)

I need to respond to a summons/complaint filed in Charlotte County. This lawsuit stems from an incident last fall. All the defendannts (4 minors,1 adult) were tried and sentanced.The plantiff is suing for damages(court ordered restitution has already paid).The response to the court is needed ASAP and I can not get the money together for a retainer. Can any one offer guidance in the wording needed to successfully file a respose until legal representation can be found? Thank You Very Much.

You need to get the complaint to your liability insurance carrier, pronto. I you have none, I suggest that you contact an attorney to draft a response for you to file yourself. That way you won't have to hire him for the entire matter at this time. Preparing your response yourself is risky as you must raise any preliminary legal issues such as jurisdiction, venue, etc before your answer is filed, or those defenses are waived. JMC
