Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

I have recently moved out of my boyfriends home and have personal belongings still there that I want, he will not contact me back as to when I can come over to get my things and he took my house key and put a padlock on the gate so that I can not collect my belongings. What can I do legally to retrieve my personal belongings, items I moved in with,

Sue him in Small Claims Court for return of property and for money damages of the property

(up to $5,000).
