Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

relationship disolved

My mother was involved with a man , they were engaged, he spent many months living in her home and made some inprovements as he wanted to.....now that thye have gone seperate ways, he wants to be compensated for his efforts.

I do know that she gave him the engagement ring back that reportly cost 14k....does he have any legal recourse??
