Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Is a signed letter a binding contract?
My car in financed in my ex-boyfriend's name. Upon splitting, we signed a letter stating that as long as I maintained the payments, he would continue to finance it under his name. I have made all of the payments on time but now he is moving and wants me to refinance in my own name. Can I make him hold good on his original agreement?

A letter can be a contract as long as there was consideration.
You probably can hold him to it, but it may not be worth the mess of doing so (and the expense). See what it costs to get it financed in your name and ask him to pay for that expense. That seems fair.
