Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Slandering witness after trial
I was subpoened by both parties to testify in a injury trial. The plaintiff was a former business associate, the defendent is a company we have our major contract with. Only the plaintiff actually called me as a witness. After the trial of which I do not know the outcome, management from within the defendents company has made damaging comments about me to my business associates as well as to associates in other cities. I have tried to adress this with my contact in the defendents organization and they refuse to discuss this with me. Do I have any legal recourse?

Yes. It would depend upon what the statements are, to whom made and their effect. You will need proof should you be thinking litigation. Good luck.
