Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Small Claims court fee, etc.

I am considering suing someone at a small claims court for about 600 dollars that he owes me and refuses to pay back.

If I win the case, will my court fees, travel costs, lawyer fees(if there are lawyers) have to come out of my own pocket, or is there a way to have that be a part of the suit?

I am living in MA now, but the other person is in FL, and the related incidents happened in FL, so I'm assuming I would have to travel to FL, in which case travel costs would be significant.

thanks

Re: Small Claims court fee, etc.

The can order him to pay court costs, but unless you have a contract that says otherwise, the other expenses and fees are yours. There are, however, a few ways to force the other side to pay attorneys' fees (assuming you use a lawyer), but your lawyer would be able to tell you how to invoke them.
