Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Stolen personal Info

I recently recieved a letter from Countrywide (my mortgage company) that an employee who has since been fired stole personal info such as soc sec numbers etc from several clients. Do we have a case against Countrywide or the employee or both because our info was stolen and our identities are compromised?

Re: Stolen personal Info

How was your identity compromised? Have credit card charges and made fraudulently on your cards? Have loans been taken out in your name which you are now being held responsible for? Did someone buy a car and put your name on it?

You only have a lawsuit against Countrywide if you have suffered monetarily.
