Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

student loans

In my final semester of college my financial aid advisor apologized while informing me that I would recieve full if not nearly full financial aid and that the semesters prior would not be retroactive. Is the advisor at fault? I explained my home and family ssituation the same way from day one. Each semster they advised me and assisted me in filling out and filing my applications for financial aid. I took out student loan after student loan to stay in school. Now years and yars later I go up and down paying and not paying back these loans. I just don't see why the advisor shouldn't be held accountable for doing his or her job improperly.

Hard to say given your facts. Would need more information to make a determination. Did you get anything in writing?

Re: student loans

Depends . . . . what was the mistake? Was it something that dfeinitely woud have gotten the aid or just made it more likely? was the advisor being paid or was this just gratuitous help? is there any paperwork or anything in writing to show what he did (as opposed to what you did) wrong?
