being sued for car bought in 1989

I bought a car in 1989. 8 years after graduating. Had a co-signer. Defaulted; was young. Debt on listed as cancelled on my 2004 taxes. Now being sued for $20,700. What are my choices.

Being young is not an excuse for not paying what you have agreed to pay. When you default, the cost of the default can prove to be costly. Call and negotiate. Find out what make up the charges.
