Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
I am being sued for damages because a vehicle registered to me but operated by another person was involved in an auto accident. There was a lapse in insurance. The plaintiffs driver was at fault and I have found several statutes that support this. The police report states that both parties were negligent but I am being sued for all the damages along with the driver of my vehicle.I responded to the summons to the court and the plaintiffs attorney what else do I have to do?

You would be well advised to contact an attorney to assist you. Hopefullt, the driver had decent insurance.
You should contact the driver's insurance and an attorney to assist you. The next stage is known as discovery. Check the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure for additional information if you choose not to hire an attorney to represent you.
