Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
What do I do if I am being sued by DGW, Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver, for downloading a movie that I have never heard of? They are demanding $2500 in three weeks or they will sue us for up to $150,000. First it is filed in the District of Columbia (we live in Florida) and once again I have never heard of the movie. What do I do and what can they truly do to me? Please Help!

These are usually scams and are dismissed if filed. I have handled these cases. See www.ConsumerLawyerHelp.com
Go to the link below for more background on what is going with these letters and the firm issuing them. Does appear to be more of a fraudulent scam as opposed to a legitimate dispute.

As a technical matter, it is very difficult to associate a particular individual with a specific IP address at a specific time.
