sweepstakes suspicion

i have been told i won a $10,000 food sweepstakes,and was called

General Mills and told that a company by the name Leader Ent. would send me an affadavit which i would sign and return to them in 2 weeks to receive the gift cards in denominations up to $500. each. my question is this on the up and up as i am a senior citizen and dont want to get my hopes up if it is a gimmick.

This sounds like a scam. Do not sign anything without someone else taking a look at it and calling the food company directly. Get information. Get advice. This sounds like a scam.
