Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Temporary Injunction for Protection Against Repeat Violence

I have been served with a temporary injunction for protection against repeat violence and must appear in court on Thursday, January 30. The petitioner is a coworker of my fiance and has been harassing him. I have not threatened or harmed her in any way. I have asked her to stop calling my home. He has held meetings with her superiors regarding her advances and asked that she not contact him, as well. Do I need to hire an attorney? Should I appear alone in court or with witnesses? May I ask that the judge subpoena phone records and documentation from the petitioners employer?

You fail to indicate what court this proceeding is in. In any event I suggest you retain an attorney since this may turn into an ongoing thing with ramifications outside the courthouse.

Good luck.
