How long does someone have to respond to a motion?

It depends on whether you are in State court or in Federal Court. In most counties, no reesponse is necessary. If a response is necessary, the local rules for that circuit would provide the response time. In Federal Court, the typical response time is 10 days excluding weekends and federal holidays.
