File a response to the complaint with the court and appear at any scheduled pre-trial conference. If you fail to respond to the lawsuit or appear for hearings, a default judgment may be entered against you. You can always try to file a motion to set aside or vacate a default judgment based, in part, on excusable neglect and meritorious defense, but you should try to avoid such a situation. Seek the advice of counsel and good luck.
