Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
Vehicle Damage Payment
Two weeks ago in Florida(where I live), my car was backed into by another driver. I was not injured, but my car was. The other driver's insurance company is paying for me to drive a rental car right now since the repair facility considered my car unsafe to drive. Although the car runs, there is considerable front end damage to my car. The initial repair facility estimate is that my car is totaled, based on the age (9 years old), mileage (103,000), and damage. Assuming that the other driver's insurance company pays me possibly $3,000 for my vehicle, this will leave me vehicleless and without enough money to buy a relatively equal replacement vehicle at this time. My car was paid for and I cannot afford monthly car payments at this time. My question: Could a lawyer help get me a fair/better deal out of this situation which was due to the other driver's carelessness? If so, what type of lawyer should I be looking for?

Re: Vehicle Damage Payment
No. If the auto is deemed a total loss you will receive the fair mkt value of the car.
