Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Last week, I was injured from a 20 second wrestling match while trying to protect my dog from a neighbor's 70 lb Boxer who jumped us while we were on a walk. Neither of us were bit, but I have leg wounds that are still healing, 2 doctor appts, approx 10 hours missed from wk (used my paid leave), had xrays done (which were negative fortunately). The neighbor never apologized or accepted responsibility. The sherriff and animal control came out and issued verbal warnings. What am I entitled to for compensation and what is the best way to go about it? I seriously doubt the owner will willingly pay for anything. 2 attorneys I spoke to aren't interested in assisting unless you're bitten or maimed in some permanent way. There may be a life-long scar on my knees from one of the wounds still healing, but that's the extent of it. Please advise.

The injuries do not seem significant enough to justify hiring a lawyer. You may present the case in small claims court yourself.

Write him a claim letter to see if he even has insurance to cover this injury.
