Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida
I work for an event venue with an AirBnB on the property that is part of the venue rental. The check in time for the AirBnB is 4pm so that we can bring housekeeping through to clean it from the previous day’s event. The venue rental contract addresses the 4pm check in time. Recently, a client’s guest (not the actual client, one of their guests) became obstinate about the delay in their check in; he wanted access 2.5hrs earlier than the contract time. He could not be given early access. Despite my professionalism, patience and understanding, he became enraged. Calling me names and swearing and making sure numerous guests and vendors heard him. I expedited his room to avoid the continued hostility and allowed him access about 90 minutes before their contract check in time. The next morning, he was still angry about it, and telling the new day’s guests about “what an A-hole” I was. He told the night manager it was his goal to get me fired, that he’ll write 10 reviews and people will stop booking our event space, and so on. For no other reason than I would not give him a room when he demanded it early. If he fabricates false reviews or contacts our corporate supervisors and that impact my job in any negative way, do I have a civil case against him?

No you likely do not have a claim you can bring. If he defames you then potentially you would have a defamation claim. It would be quite hard for this to occur.
