Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Florida

Three years ago, my ex helped me get a car. Now he's threatening that if I don't get his name off the lease, he will report it stolen. Is that legal? I make the payments. The only issue we have is that when U first got the vehicle, I didn't have sufficient insurance but I corrected that two years ago. Can he report it stolen if he hasn't even driven it and he knows where it is and I'm making the payments?

Ownership will depend on whose name is on the title. If there is no longer an issue, why not just remove him from the lease and/or title to resolve this dispute and remove his liability for it. Regards,
