Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida
emergency room
I am a diabetic and was admited to Tampa General Hosp. on July 28 due to having a low blood sugar. I refused treatment and left after blood was drawn, but nothing was done and I did not sign anything. I recieved a bill for $757.00. The bill states that I left without treatment on 7-28-08, but the hospital ran $757.00 worth of blood tests the day after I left on 7-29-08. Am I responsible for the above mentioned amount??
I look forward to your response.
Thank you.

Re: emergency room
Yes, you initiated the blood work by signing in. The fact that the blood work was billed after you left the hospital is irrelevant.
Ask the billing department if they will give you a cash discount. Many times they will let you pay a reduced amount if you pay in full.
