Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida
I am an employee of a hospital I was treated as a patient. Several employees not associated with my care accessed my PHI. Is the a legal avenue for litigation?

Without knowing all the details it is difficult to answer this question. In short, however, the hospital has a duty to safeguard your PHI. If the employees who had access to your PHI did not need the information for health or claims payment reasons, then this would appear to be a violation of HIPAA. I recommend you consult with a health care plaintiff's attorney in your area to discuss further details of your potential case.
