Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida
Hospital Overcharge 10/3/2008
My wife had an incisional hernia and had a 20x24cm mesh patch inserted at a charge of over $5,000 . How can I ascertain the price the manufacturer charged the hospital since I am retired and on a limited income & owe the hospital $ 4,000.

You can contact the manufacturer; however, the hospital is allowed to charge more for the item than they purchsed it for.

You may try to contact the manufacturer, but will not likely have much luck there. The price the hospital paid for the mesh is not really relevant to your bill, but medical supplies are usually very expensive.
Your best option is to negotiate your payoff with the hospital.
