Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida
my medical records
If I go to my doctors office, and take my personal medical file, am I braking the law. I live in Fl. Who really owns my records? I already know that I can request copies, but my file is the size of the L.A phone book and I am going to be changing doctors and I would like my entire file.

Re: my medical records
You are entitled to a copy of your records. You are not entitled to steal the office chart, however. You can request a copy. You can have you new doctor request a copy (sometimes that is easier). The chart is not "your" chart -- although you are entitled to receive a copy.
