reversing baker act
if a family member has sought out help for someone with a drug problem and they have cooperated with the hospital, and the family member can ensure safety and well being until the appointment with therapist can this act be reversed

No. If the criteria is met for Baker Acting there is a 72 hour period after which, if the psychiatrist or psycologist still believes he is a danger to himself or others, then involuntary committment procedures can begin. That will involve the courts, counsel will be appointed, and the court will enlist independent mental health professionals.
