Legal Question in Health Care Law in Florida

RE: Telemedicine

I am interested to engage in the online physician consultation services.

Essentially, our physicians will provide medical advice and prescriptions through our website and telephone.

We will require a picture ID, medical records, a physical examination within the past 12 months, and completion of our online questionnaire. It is possible that we may establish the services of a pharmacy to fulfill the prescriptions for our clients. Our physicians will be U.S. certified and licensed in at least one state to practice medicine. We will not conduct business in states where the online consultation services are explicitly prohibited by law, such as Idaho and Kentucky.

What legal ramifications do you find? How do you think we can conduct business without being labeled as pill pushers? And, what do you think about this particular business venture?

Thank you.

There are a ton of legal ramifications. Fifteen to twenty come immediately to mine and it sounds like a medical malpractice niughtmare. You need to see an attorney. Getting answers to such a complicated issue from an Internet posting board is a receipe for disaster.
