Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Almost 3 years ago we crossed the border with a moving truck and told the officer what we were doing. Showed him the 3 children's Canadian Passports and my American Passport. Id also spent time at the u.s. consulate in Toronto before leaving, updating my SS number and Passport and they knew I was moving with my 3 children to the States - never said anything. Now were being told that the kids have never been naturalized and that we were supposed to have gotten green cards or something. Based on the amendment that was made (320 I think) during the Clinton Administrationthe kids should have become citizens when we crossed the border.

We cant claim them as dependants until SS numbers are issued for the kids. We have 2 years of taxes in limbo. We have tuition aid for school for the oldest child for next year in limbo and weve lost the $1500 processing fee for the last venture with homeland, in trying to establish citizenship from birth abroad. I'm out of money and frankly running out of time. I need help.

Latangie Williams Law Office of Latangie Williams, P.A.

You will need to file I-130's and I-485's for all three children. Hopefully, you can reopen your N-600 cases without paying to refile them. For assistance, please contact my office at 904-371-3538 or email me at [email protected].
