Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

us citizanship

my mom is been living here for almost 15 years. She has a green card and took the us citizenship test twice about 7 years ago and didn't pass it. She is old now and her memory is bad as well. What you think we should do because even if she takes the test again she will not pass it. please give us any suggestions. Thanks

You can get waivers of the exam for certain reasons. There is no specific list of categories that are entitled to waiver of the exam requirement; the decision is made on a case-by-case basis. This is really a situation where hiring an attorney would give your mother the best chance of success. If you cannot afford a regular attorney, non-profit agencies in your area will help at reduced cost (although she may not get the same level of attention because of their high case loads, at least she will have someone advising her).

Good luck to you and your mother.

Tina
