Re: Can a US citizen sponser a nephew from India

There is no family-based sponsorship available for Uncle/Aunt to nephew. Although there is a basis for sponsorship of siblings, it is a process that could take as many as 10+ years to complete. Your nephew can, however, pursue studies in the USA on an F-1 student visa, and you and your husband could "vouch" for covering his finances/expenses while in the US studying. If you're interested in this approach you or he should contact universities that he's interested in, and inquire regarding their admission process for foreign students. Typically, there is an Office of International Students or International Center that handles these inquiries.
