Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
Domestic Violence Arrest effect on permanent residency in Florida
I have a friend who through marriage, obtained his permanent residence in the State of Florida. His wife filed a domestic violence action against him - he was arrested - charged with Class A misdemeanor pled not guilty and released. The wife moved to have the stay away order modified and succeeded.
The question is: If this matter gets dismissed and the record is sealed, how can this affect him once he is eligible to become a United States Citizen and will it hinder his current immigration status of permanent resident. I look forward to your response. Thanks. Friend in Miami
