In general, if you have the legal right to be employed it should not matter who the employer is (although some temporary non-immigrant visas restrict employment to a single specific employer and some employment-based immigration methods do not permit self-petitioning).

So if you are the beneficiary of an approved family-based petition, a visa for you is currently available, and you are eligible for adjustment, you would be able to be employed by your own business entity or any other employer once your EAD is issued. Note that if you were out of status prior to adjustment or accepted unauthorized employment, this would present difficulty. Consult an immigration attorney for specific advice.
