Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
Hi,
I have a friend who is an illegal immigrant and has been working for a few years without paying any taxes.
If the bill, just introduced in the Senate, were to become law as it is crafted right now, could he apply for conditional legal status before he has paid any back taxes, or he has to have all back taxes paid before he could even apply for legal status?
Thank you.

It is too soon to answer this question as the bill if it becomes law would address specific guidelines for the path to residency and the time frame for certain requirements.

I believe I answered this question already. However, a million things can change before anything becomes a law, so I would not even contemplate paying back taxes right now.
