Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

I have some friends who have been married for over 6 years. The husband's visa expired and they have been trying for years to request citizenship due to their marriage. She is now pregnant. Can her condition be a determining or persuading factor when trying to request citizenship? Does it change the speed of the process?
