Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Good afternoon. I entered the U.S. 3 years ago. Due to a mistake on my address, I did not show up for my first appointment with the judge, so I was given Order of deportation on Asentia. I submitted a motion to reopen, and it was granted. I showed up for my second appointment and the judge closed my case administratively. He stated that I can apply for a work permit. What can I do? I want to apply for a work permit, also submit my application for Assylum.

To secure a work permit, you must file form I-765 which is available for download on the website at www.uscis.gov along with its instructions. An asylum claim is another matter. One is supposed to file such a claim within one year of arrival in the U.S. Look for a competent immigration attorney near you that offers a free consultation so you can get some good advice about your matter. Search on the Internet or ask a local bar association for a referral. Good luck!
