Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Is it possible for a greencard to be revoked?

Hello

Is it possible that an approved 3 years ago greencard can be revoked for any reason?

Does it really happen on practice?

Thanks

Sure, it's possible. It can happen for a variety of reasons, such as fraud, misrepresentation of material facts in the petition for permanent residence. I've also seen it happen in circumstances when the original immigrant petition was granted in error. I'm not sure how common it is, but it is for this reason that I recommend to my clients that they wait a little over 5 years before applying for U.S. citizenship. This is because a 5 year Statute of Limitations usually applies in U.S. naturalization applications. In cases where clients struggled to obtain permanent residence, when they apply for U.S. citizenship during the permitted time period before the 5 year limit is up, the Immigration Service can then review their determination in the green card case.
