Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
What hardship can I claim to get a fiance visa with no prior meeting?
Hello,
the dept of immigration website states the following about me obtaining a fiance visa for my ladyfriend:
Who is Eligible
U.S. citizens who will be getting married to a foreign national in the United States may petition for a fianc(e) classification (K-1) for their fianc(e). You and your fianc(e) must be free to marry. This means that both of you are unmarried, or that any previous marriages have ended through divorce, annulment or death. You must also have met with your fianc(e) in person within the last two years before filing for the fianc(e) visa. This requirement can be waived only if meeting your fianc(e) in person would violate long-established customs, or if meeting your fianc(e) would create extreme hardship for you. You and your fianc(e) must marry within 90 days of your fianc(e) entering the United States.
MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I PROVE HARDSHIP AS I HAVE NEVER MET THIS WOMAN? YET WE HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE THRU THE INTERNET. I HAVE NO WAY TO GO TO HER COUNTRY AS FINANCIALLY IT WOULDNT BE POSSIBLE BUT IF SHE WERE HERE SHE COULD WORK WITH ME AND WE COULD PROSPER. ***ALSO, COULD I ALSO CONSIDER GETTING HER HEAR ON A VISITORS VISA AND MARRYING HER? WOULD THEY LET HER STAY?

Normally it is a financial hardship, but sometimes it can be based on other concerns.
