Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
Hi , My house was recently robbed and they took literally every document I had , I've filled for a replacement green card , but that will take months , all I have is a police report which isn't enough for the dmv to issue me a drivers license which leaves me with no method of identification , without that I wasn't able to enter college this semester nor get a job , can somebody help me with a solution ? Or will my life stand still until I receive my replacement green card ?

After you file the I-90 and you've received your receipt notice, make an INFOPass appointment at your local CIS office and ask for a temp I-551. You will likely need to bring the police report, your passport and other government issued photo id as the temp I-551 can be affixed to your passport or given as a standalone. This document serves as proof of your status which will then allow you to work and go to school.
