Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Do I have to get a new I-94 ??

Hi I am on h1-b1 visa and my current i-94 has an expiration date of 18-nov-2005. But my current passport expires on 14-sept-2004. I will be getting a new passport with a new number(Yes, a new number) from my country's consular office. Question is Do I have to surrender my old i-94 and get a new I-94 ?

Thanks for your help !!!

Just make sure your old passport is stapled to the new one and you should be fine.

Normally, the consulate will attach the old passport to the new one when you still have a valid visa in the old passport. Thus, you would not have to give up the visa or the I-94. Still, make a copy of everything before you submit it.

You should not have to get a new I-94 just because your passport number changes.
