Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

immigration

My Boyfriend was deported from miami about 4 months ago. I am an American citizen and he is a Mexican citizen. We now live in Mexico and are trying to get to Canada. Our flight has a layover in Charlotte North Carolina. Will he encounter problems at the Airport in Charlotte or will he be penalized?

Re: immigration

It will depend on whether you will have to go through immigration in the Charlotte airport. If yes, then he will be sent back. I would not recommend you to do that especially if you have any thoughts for the future marriage and coming back to the U.S. for good.

Re: immigration

He should not encounter any problem so long as it is a layover and not an intentional entry; however, I do not encourage taking flights with layovers for the primary reason that many officers inspect at their own discretion. Now, the chances are that you will go from one part of the terminal to another. Move it and get to the other departing terminal -- and sit and wait there. You should have no trouble provided you have your tickets and boarding passes. Please let me know what happens -- you can email me at [email protected]. Good luck!
