Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
Immigration, Wife Visa
I am a US citizen. My wife (a Venezuelan citizen) and I got married in January 2006 and then went to the interview in August 2006 and received her temporary residency a couple weeks after that. The marriage is not going well now and we are almost at the point of ending it, but dont want to jepordize her status or do anything that would not allow her to get her permanent residency status. Would a divorce disallow her from petitioning and receiving premanent residency status?

Re: Immigration, Wife Visa
Not as long as it was a legitimate marriage to begin with. She can still proceed for her green card after the divorce.
