Re: lawyers pay rate

That is difficult to answer. Most immigration lawyers charge what the market will bear, some will charge what they believe is a fair rate, and some charge what they can get. Good immigration lawyers charge hourly rates ranging from about 300 to 400 dollars per hour, and usually ask for a consultation fee. If they are retained, the consultation fee is waived. Most rates vary according to region; so that a lawyer in Florida may charge less than a lawyer in Virginia. On the other hand, what is important is that you obtain the best lawyer you can, no matter what the cost. You can find out whether a lawyer is good by asking others who have used the lawyer; if a lawyer is found by referrals, you can bet he is probably fairly good or he would not be in business. Lawyers who advertise, on the other hand, are not necessarily good, although some may be. Good luck finding a GOOD Immigration lawyer. Incidentally, because immigration lawyers are federal lawyers, any immigration lawyer can handle cases outside of his state or outside of the country. So if you find a good one outside of your state, check him or her out. He or she may be worth every penny depending on the difficulty of your case.
