Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida
Why a lot of times CBP officers at international airports are rude, vulgar and intimidating to lawful permanent residents of the USA, even humiliating lawful residents on secondary inspection, I am one of them can I sue them for that in a court of law for violation of my civil rights and liberties.??
1 Answer from Attorneys
If you believe your civil rights have been violated, then find an attorney who will take the claim. Yes, you can sue, but I have a better idea! Why not file a complaint with the Office of Inspector General for the Department of Homeland Security. Tell him what bothers you and give him the names of the officers and how they treated you. If your complaint is effective, it may work. In fact, if you know others who have been treated disrespectfully, have them send complaints also. If you believe the offices have damaged you seriously in some way, however, get counsel with regard to suing the government. Good luck!
