Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

I paid $1,490.05 to uscis last month and I received a rejection letter and all my documents back yesterday due to incorrect fees. Is it because it has an excess of .05 cents? I -130 cost $420, I485-$985 and biometrics is 85. Is it ok that I sent $1,000 and $ 490 money orders? Not broken down to the corresponding amounts of the forms? When can I expect my biometric schedule? Thank you so much for your help.

>>>>>My name is Maia from Florida. I submitted my I130, I485 with biometrics to the Homeland Security. The total amount enclosed is $1, 490 which consist of 2 money orders of $1,000 and $490. Is it ok if I didn't pay separately for I130, I 485 and biometrics? I mean I didn't break down the money according to the exact amount of the said forms? I'm afraid it might get rejected. Pls help me with my concern.

Thank you.

You overpaid by $.05 and the Lockboxes cannot accept overpayment. You need to consult with an immigration attorney to help you correct the problem. Please contact me at 904-371-3538 or email me at [email protected].

If you are going to pay separately, you should make one check or money order out to Department of Homeland Security for the amount of $1070 for your I-485 fee and another for $420 for your I-130. I also recommend that you have an attorney look over all of your forms before you file to ensure the application is not denied because of an error that could have been fixed. If your application is denied, USCIS does not return your fees so it would be worth it. Please feel free to contact me to discuss this matter further.
