Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

petition

I came in to USA with K-1 Fiance Visa on Sept 2002; I married with my petitioner in Nov 2002. I'm still waiting for my Condicional Residence hearing in Tampa, Florida. I was in a Shelter for 2 months for verbal, emotional and economical abuse in 2003. My husband has prior records of domestic violence and spousal abuse. I'm in a situation of almost slavery at home and my husband use my status to manipulate me. He has a history of doing the same thing to his ex-wife, and she was also in the same shelter 3 times for emotional and fisical abuse (fisical in the last time). He knows how inmigration system works also and he used it to his advantage, and I'm scared of what will happen to me.

all I want to know is if it possible for me to make the self-petition in my present inmigrant situation.

I know about Vawa law, but they told me they need a Lot the proof of that (my husband never hit me)...I just want to know my rights, because in the house I need to do everything he wants, Everything...and be quiet...do I have any rights here?...

Re: petition

Go to the shelter you were at and ask them to help you get in touch with an immigration attorney immediately. If you can't get to the shelter, look in the yellow pages under immigration attorneys and one of them will be able to guide you. You will be taken care of. Good luck to you.
