Re: reentry

I love nothing better than a case of an alien like you who wants to return to the U.S. and maybe, just maybe, I can find a way to do it. First of all, I need to know the crime, okay, and you can email me on my personal email [email protected] if you don't wish to telegraph it. My email is secure. Second, if you have a U.S. citizen son, that is a good reason to come back. My quick answer is "Yes," it is possible, but I need to know all the facts in order to determine whether you fall into that "possibility" okay! There are several nonimmigrant visas that you may qualify for, even with a conviction, that can get you back here to visit for awhile. Then, there is a possibility for a waiver to get you back in. In order for me to explore the options, give me as much details in the email as you can concerning the conviction, where you are now, etc. In the meantime, don't give up -- even if you don't consult with me further, you must know that there are possibilities, and that you can retain an immigration lawyer (a good one), who can help you with a possible visa to visit your son, and/or a waiver if you are eligible for a petition. I am curious as to how a lawful permanent resident for as long as you were, convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude in 1997, got deported. Did you have an attorney? Did you know whether you had any relief? Anyway, good luck to you.
