Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

Registration Process

Hello Sir/Madam,

I am here to ask a question for my friend who is in trouble because of this registration process that INS has asked people from pakistan and saudi arabia to go thru. My friend is a pakistani and he has been living in the U.S for the last ten years and until last year he has never been out of status. He did his bachelors here and then worked after that. But he got laid off in may'2002 and never found anything after that. He was on h-1visa and because of lay off he lost his status. Now, he is wondering if you have any suggestions for him. Does he have to go register next week since he is already out of status. What are the options if any are there for an out of status person to be in status again. Your cooperation in this manner will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Registration Process

He should go for MS program and change his visa to F1 until he finds an employer to sponsor him for H1 and labor certification. I have some employers in Los Angeles area who are willing to sponsor. He can e-mail me his resume.
