Is there a way for some one to become a legal person in the U.S. even if no one in there family is?

Yes.
The most common methods for obtaining residency (besides getting it through family members) are having a potential or current employer petition for you or obtaining Political Asylum. Your eligibility for either of these approaches would depend entirely upon the facts of your particular situation.
