Legal Question in Immigration Law in Florida

I got a uncharacterized discharge while i was in basic and i got a DD-214 that says LFV Re3. i was just wondering how it affetcs me once i am a legal resident married to a citizen and i have a process going on with the immigration. I have to renew my greencard in a month and i am really scared of this discharge.

How does it really affect me?

Thanks

Leo.

It appears you were not qualified to be in the military, so you were discharged for this reason. This does not appear to be a criminal charge. I would ask one of your officers for an official letter explaining what the code means. My research shows it may be because your body fat level was not as required for the military. But, the Immigration Service would likely require a letter explaining this. So, work on it now to obtain a letter from your CO or other department that can explain it in a short letter. This may be akin to being fired from a job, but I would certainly document what this means upon filing to extend your green card.

Sincerely,
